Created: August 23, 2026

Purpose: Provide a small, bounded navigation layer for KaiRis work without indexing Jeremy's entire home directory or loading the full preserved corpus into every conversation.

## Operating rule

> Retrieve the smallest sufficient source set, preserve provenance, and never confuse a representative center with the whole record.

This index is a navigation aid, not a replacement for original sources. Contradictions, minority evidence, uncertainty, and outliers remain linked and recoverable.

Default limits for one task:

- Start with this index and one canonical document.
- Add no more than three directly relevant sources before reassessing.
- Read targeted sections rather than complete large transcripts.
- Search named project directories, never the home directory.
- Do not load generated PDFs, images, archives, dependencies, or audit logs unless required.
- Summarize findings with source paths before expanding scope.

Large review tasks may exceed these limits deliberately, but must be split into bounded phases.

- KaiRis Node processes: nearly idle during diagnosis

Immediate recovery:

1. Save work and quit Cursor fully.
2. Restart macOS to clear accumulated swap.
3. Open `KaiRis-Active.code-workspace`.
4. Keep `/Users/johnjeremy` closed as a workspace.
